Our Story
Fujiyama Steakhouse of Japan's story begins with a local entrepreneur named John Boespflug who met his wife K.C. (a Japanese-Korean immigrant) a couple years prior. His love for her encouraged him to pursue his dream of opening a unique restaurant, one that expressed the Japanese culture and food to families all over Indiana in 1977. Fujiyama Steak House of Japan has been bringing the freshest and most succulent steak and seafood to Indianapolis diners for nearly 40 years, and although John and K.C. have since retired, their son Jason shares their commitment to quality, spirit of innovation and hard work. Located conveniently off of Emerson and I-465, it's only minutes away from both downtown Indianapolis and residential areas. Fujiyama sets itself apart from other restaurants by combining Indy's best sushi bar, healthy and unique menu items, express lunch service, and the most entertaining hibachi chefs in the Midwest, all under a warm and inviting environment.
